Mix Tapes by Ge Mapa: Pinoy Pop Icon Portraits is happening tonight! At Heima, Brixton 6pm onwards.
Washi tape artist Ge Madriaga-Mapa in her latest mini-collection takes on Pinoy Pop Heroes including Francis Magalona, Nora Aunor, and other influential pop icons.
Ge’s washi tape (decorative Japanese tape) portraits started with her Wes Anderson collection. Her Bill Murray “Steve Zissou” piece after submitting it to a Bill Murray exhibit landed her a feature in Time Magazine (Read: How Geraldine Mapa’s work ended up in Time magazine) and also a slot at the San Francisco exhibit.
Tonight’s exhibit opening also features acoustic performances by Kaye Matriano, Hannah+Gabi, and Outerhope
